PROGRAM LEVEL

The BSc program in Information Systems is accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET, https://www.abet.org. The program designed to provide our graduates with strong Technical and Business skills. Our graduates are equipped with knowledge and skills demanded in the job market to design and implement effective solutions to meet organizational and management needs. Students are also prepared to lead managerial and entrepreneurship careers. The program curriculum has been developed based on the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM)- Association for Information Systems (AIS) curriculum and local industry needs. This makes the BSc in Information Systems a unique program as it not only meets the ACM-AIS standard but at the same time contributes to the Kingdom of Bahrain’s economic development by ensuring that the Information Systems graduates are demanded by the job market

PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

  1. Apply their knowledge and skills to succeed in an information systems career.
  2. Communicate and work ethically, responsibly, and effectively in multi-disciplinary teams while fully participating in the profession and society.
  3. Pursue and successfully complete advanced studies and embark on entrepreneurship and lifelong learning for personal and professional growth.

STUDENT OUTCOMES (SOs)

Graduates of the program will have an ability to:

  1. Analyze a complex computing problem and to apply principles of computing and other relevant disciplines to identify solutions.
  2. Design, implement, and evaluate a computing-based solution to meet a given set of computing requirements in the context of the program’s discipline.
  3. Communicate effectively in a variety of professional contexts.
  4. Recognize professional responsibilities and make informed judgments in computing practice based on legal and ethical principles.
  5. Function effectively as a member or leader of a team engaged in activities appropriate to the program’s discipline.
  6. Support the delivery, use, and management of information systems within an information systems environment.
