PROGRAM LEVEL
The College of Information Technology started its Master Program in Information Technology in 2011 with an aim to “play a major role in the development of industrial and academic resources related to information technologies, with the vision to make University of Bahrain a part of the processes aimed to transform Bahrain’s economy into a knowledge-based economy by promoting efficient, sustainable and effective IT initiatives in accordance with Bahrain Vision 2030”. Many successful students have graduated from the program with excellent thesis results. The two year program aims at building capacity within the Bahraini IT market for research and development and strengthening the IT professionals working within the Kingdom and regionally.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
- Acquire advanced cutting-edge knowledge and leadership skills necessary to advance their careers in IT.

- Contribute positively to society through responsible, professional, and ethical IT practice and research.
PROGRAM INTENDED LEARNING OUTCOMES
- An ability to apply the knowledge of computing and IT appropriate to the discipline.
- An ability to analyse challenging problems and identify and define the computing requirements appropriate for their solutions that meet appropriate computing standards and realistic constraints.
- An ability to effectively identify and analyse user needs and take them into account in the selection, creation, evaluation and administration of computer-based systems.
- An ability to design, implement, and evaluate a system, process, component, or program to meet desired needs using best practices and standards, within realistic constraints such as economic, environmental, social, ethical, health and safety, etc.
- An ability to function effectively in a team by assuming different roles and demonstrating effective leadership qualities and project management skills to accomplish a common goal towards a significant project.
- An ability to assess professional, ethical, legal, security and social issues and responsibilities.
- An Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with a range of audiences.
