Biography
- Dr. Yaqoob Al-Slais joined the Department of Information Systems in February 2012. He is an Assistant Professor with a PhD. in Computing and Information Sciences from the University of Bahrain, which he obtained in June 2024.
- He also holds a Master's degree in Social Informatics and Systems from Nagoya University, Japan in 2011, after winning a MEXT scholarship from the Japanese government. He completed his Bachelor’s degree in Multimedia Technology in 2005 at Leeds Metropolitan University (now Leeds Beckett) in the United Kingdom.
- Al-Slais has published several papers at local and international conferences and journals on topics such as privacy methodologies, human factors in cybersecurity, and utilizing blockchain technologies to secure intelligent automation systems. His research interests also include Cyberethics, Robotic Process Automation, and UI/UX Design.
- Prior to joining the department, Al-Slais worked as a Computer Training Specialist at the Ministry of Education for over five years, training hundreds of teachers how to utilize ICT and multimedia applications in education.
