Yaqoob completed his MSc. in Social Informatics and Systems from Nagoya University, Japan in 2011. His undergraduate studies was a BSc. In Multimedia Technology at Leeds Metropolitan University (now Leeds Beckett) in 2005.
Before joining the Information Systems department in 2012, Yaqoob worked as a Computer Training Specialist at the Ministry of Education, raising Bahraini teacher’s competencies in using ICT and Multimedia in education.
Research interests include Robotic Process Automation, Human Factors, Cybersecurity, and Blockchain.
He is currently a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Bahrain's Computing and Information Sciences program with a thesis titled ""A Blockchain-based Intelligent Automation Solution to Combat Digital Fraud and Data Leakage in B2B E-Commerce""
